In Crete Nelly's acquainted with a society of structure closely resembling an ancient one, only slightly affected in the course of time. She is startled and records what she sees. The material shown in this book depicts through a series of exquisite photographs - created with a direct approach in genuine surroundings - the aspects of a society which has by now been radically transformed.
